Alyx and Jonny's Garden Wedding Celebration - August 2010

In August we worked with the lovely Jennie Beard from Hansley Beard Event Planning and Design. Jennie asked Emma from Wedding Daze to work with her on a garden wedding reception in York, Jennie was styling and co-ordianting this wedding celebration and on the wedding day Emma was able to provide an extra pair of hands!

Jennie's blog shows the wedding in detail, a must see! Jennie's attention to detail and her design experience makes the wedding memorable and stunningly gorgeous - see part 1 and part 2. The image above is a sneak peak of the photography from Damian J Bramley.

Congratulations to Alyx and Jonny on their recent marriage - a lovely couple, we wish you many years of happiness! We also wanted to say how lovely it was to work a fellow wedding planner like Jennie. Hopefully we will get to work together on more weddings like this one in the future x

Green Wedding Dress....

After seeing a Bride wear a stunning green wedding dress and fiery red hair at this weekend's wedding, I wanted to share some other non -traditional wedding dress colours that Brides might consider wearing.

Why not make the colour of your wedding dress the theme of your wedding and use the colour throughout your ceremony and reception venue. Your choice of colour in a wedding dress will ensure a non-traditional, unique and memorable wedding celebration for you and your guests. Stand out from the crowd... has white and ivory had it's day?

Emma & Vincent - Wedding Day Part 2

Even though we had many of our close friends and family come to Las Vegas we wanted to celebrate with the rest of our friends and family in the UK.

As wedding planners we see a lot of wedding venues, we choose Aston Hall for its quirky, modern feel to the interior and exterior. The marquee made the perfect backdrop for our casino theme wedding reception – we wanted to bring Las Vegas back to the UK!

To ensure the UK reception looked as Vegas themed as possible we want to say a big thanks to Ultimate Balloon Company for providing the chair covers, sashes, and balloons to make the venue look stunning. We had so many comment on how stunning the decor was! We also decorated the interior with a life size Elvis, Las Vegas sign and decks of cards!

A big also must be given to Jon at S6 Photography who snapped away and provide us with lots of fantastic images of our day (see above)

Emma & Vincent - Wedding Day Part 1

Regular readers of our
Facebook, Twitter and blog will know Wedding Daze is run by Emma and Vincent – a unique wedding planning duo who can plan weddings and events from both the male and female point of view. We are now very excited to announce that we too are married! Woo hoo! So Wedding Daze is now run by a husband and wife team!

Here is a little info and images about our wedding, we would like to thank all the suppliers involved – their hard work and dedication made our wedding a truly fantastic event!

After a surprise proposal on the beach in Jamaica we started to plan our wedding. We wanted to combine our wedding and honeymoon and go for a quirky alternative when we decided to tie the knot. We decided that a Californian fly drive was the ideal honeymoon for us, lots of sight-seeing, beaches and culture. Then we started to look for wedding venues around that area, and the City of Las Vegas was just too tempting! For a long time we had wanted to visit the Sin City and this opportunity was too good to resist!

After lots of researching on the Internet and reading reviews, we choose the
Forever Grand Wedding Chapel at the MGM Grand Hotel. We were drawn to this chapel due to the old style 1950’s glamorous feel to it, we wanted to experience the Rat Pack era of Las Vegas – stars like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Marilyn Monroe and Ava Gardener graced the famous Las Vegas strip.

Now the venue was booked the next thing on the agenda was the dress! Due to the hot climate I decided to go for a simple dress, thanks to the staff at
Hoops-a-Daisy I choose a beautiful Amanda Wyatt gown called Bermuda. This Grecian style dress was beautiful designed, with an gorgeous band of sparkles and pearls around the waist band. The dress had a huge train and the chiffon material hung beautifully. I then met Debbie from DC Bouquets at a wedding fayre and was instantly in love with her hair accessorize – after meeting with Debbie she sourced a me a beautiful vintage brooch and added feathers, pearls and sparkles to make me the most stunning hair piece – I have had so many lovely comments on Debbie stunning work! We also got a number of our items for Next, for example my wedding shoes, clutch purse and Vincent’s suit all came from there.

So we got married on Friday 9th July 2010 at the Forever Grand Wedding Chapel, we had two reading in our ceremony by two close friends. The readings were Soulmates and Recipe for Love. We would like to say a big thanks to all those who came to Las Vegas, 19 of our close friends and family came to see us get married. Another big thanks goes out to our best man, bridesmaids and flower girl for being in our wedding party! After our wedding ceremony we want to
Casa Di Amore – a beautiful old style Italian restaurant just off the Las Vegas strip – the food and service here was amazing! We also had a live singer, this singer whisked you back to the era of the 1950's singing all the old Rat Pack songs (George Bugatti). Again we wanted to thank the staff here for their communication on the lead up to the wedding! We had a wedding cake from the bakery Retro Bakery – this delicious chocolate cake was decorated in orange and ivory – the colours of our wedding!
