We are excited to announce that Wedding Daze is exhibiting at the Hardwick Hall wedding fayre on Saturday 4th September 2010.

Why not pop along and say hello, Hardwick Hall is a stately home on the edge of the Peak District, with its dramatic location set on the hilltop between the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire border.

Hardwick Hall is a spectacular Elizabethan mansion built by ‘Bess of Hardwick’, Countess of Shrewsbury. Emma & Vincent - Wedding Day Part 2

Even though we had many of our close friends and family come to Las Vegas we wanted to celebrate with the rest of our friends and family in the UK.

As wedding planners we see a lot of wedding venues, we choose Aston Hall for its quirky, modern feel to the interior and exterior. The marquee made the perfect backdrop for our casino theme wedding reception – we wanted to bring Las Vegas back to the UK!

To ensure the UK reception looked as Vegas themed as possible we want to say a big thanks to Ultimate Balloon Company for providing the chair covers, sashes, and balloons to make the venue look stunning. We had so many comment on how stunning the decor was! We also decorated the interior with a life size Elvis, Las Vegas sign and decks of cards!

A big also must be given to Jon at S6 Photography who snapped away and provide us with lots of fantastic images of our day (see above)

Emma & Vincent - Wedding Day Part 1

Regular readers of our
Facebook, Twitter and blog will know Wedding Daze is run by Emma and Vincent – a unique wedding planning duo who can plan weddings and events from both the male and female point of view. We are now very excited to announce that we too are married! Woo hoo! So Wedding Daze is now run by a husband and wife team!

Here is a little info and images about our wedding, we would like to thank all the suppliers involved – their hard work and dedication made our wedding a truly fantastic event!

After a surprise proposal on the beach in Jamaica we started to plan our wedding. We wanted to combine our wedding and honeymoon and go for a quirky alternative when we decided to tie the knot. We decided that a Californian fly drive was the ideal honeymoon for us, lots of sight-seeing, beaches and culture. Then we started to look for wedding venues around that area, and the City of Las Vegas was just too tempting! For a long time we had wanted to visit the Sin City and this opportunity was too good to resist!

After lots of researching on the Internet and reading reviews, we choose the
Forever Grand Wedding Chapel at the MGM Grand Hotel. We were drawn to this chapel due to the old style 1950’s glamorous feel to it, we wanted to experience the Rat Pack era of Las Vegas – stars like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Marilyn Monroe and Ava Gardener graced the famous Las Vegas strip.

Now the venue was booked the next thing on the agenda was the dress! Due to the hot climate I decided to go for a simple dress, thanks to the staff at
Hoops-a-Daisy I choose a beautiful Amanda Wyatt gown called Bermuda. This Grecian style dress was beautiful designed, with an gorgeous band of sparkles and pearls around the waist band. The dress had a huge train and the chiffon material hung beautifully. I then met Debbie from DC Bouquets at a wedding fayre and was instantly in love with her hair accessorize – after meeting with Debbie she sourced a me a beautiful vintage brooch and added feathers, pearls and sparkles to make me the most stunning hair piece – I have had so many lovely comments on Debbie stunning work! We also got a number of our items for Next, for example my wedding shoes, clutch purse and Vincent’s suit all came from there.

So we got married on Friday 9th July 2010 at the Forever Grand Wedding Chapel, we had two reading in our ceremony by two close friends. The readings were Soulmates and Recipe for Love. We would like to say a big thanks to all those who came to Las Vegas, 19 of our close friends and family came to see us get married. Another big thanks goes out to our best man, bridesmaids and flower girl for being in our wedding party! After our wedding ceremony we want to
Casa Di Amore – a beautiful old style Italian restaurant just off the Las Vegas strip – the food and service here was amazing! We also had a live singer, this singer whisked you back to the era of the 1950's singing all the old Rat Pack songs (George Bugatti). Again we wanted to thank the staff here for their communication on the lead up to the wedding! We had a wedding cake from the bakery Retro Bakery – this delicious chocolate cake was decorated in orange and ivory – the colours of our wedding!

Wedding Reading: Eternal Soulmates

We had this reading at our wedding and we wanted to share it with you!

Eternal Soulmates

You are the one,
with whom I'm destined to be,
across space and time,
you are drawn to me,

One love, one life, we are destined to be,
soulmates forever throughout eternity,
In past lives I have loved you,
In this life I love you too,

And I know if I shall live again,
I am destined to love you,
across space and time, you are drawn to me,
One love, one life, we are destined to be,

Soulmates forever throughout eternity,
I know I'll always find you where ever you are,
No matter the consequence,
No matter how far,

Even in death I shall love you more,
to fuel my search to find you,
so we shall love once more,
across space and time, you are drawn to me

One love, one life, we are destined to be,
Soulmates forever throughout eternity

Sex & the City of Steel Photo Shoot - Sheffield Style!

Wedding Daze and PH Weddings had been eagerly awaiting Sunday 27th June as it was our Sex and the city photo shoot! It was probably the hottest day of the year so far and also marked the day England bowed out of the world cup…but that’s another story!

Months of planning became a reality when our models for the day the lovely Eleanor Brodie and her four bridesmaids arrived at Kenwood Hall for preparations. Eleanor is getting married next June in California so this gave the ladies an ideal opportunity to practice dressing up and posing for the camera!

Kenwood Hall kindly provided us with a location for the ladies to get ready, stunning balloon bouquets arrived from Celebrations Balloons and our make up artist Lauren Sally and hairdresser Louise from Creator arrived just as the champagne started flowing!

The makeup from Lauren was amazing, she used airbrushes to apply foundation which is a great solution for any wedding day as it lasts all day and we definitely put it to the test in the hot weather. The ladies brought fake eyelashes with them, some from the Sex and the City collection! Louise from Creator Hair created some stunning styles ranging from free flowing curls to elaborate up dos to compliment the ladies hair accessories. We were spoilt for choice for accessories with truly beautiful vintage hair combs and headbands from Debbie at DC Bouquets and clips and slides from the Charlotte Balbier and Amanda Wyatt collections.

The dresses were nothing short of amazing, Charlotte Balbier’s Camilla wedding dress which was inspired by the Sex and the City film was Eleanor’s dress for the day and looked amazing on. Eleanor’s feather hair accessory from Charlotte Balbier really set off her blue eyes perfectly and really turned her into Carrie for the day!

The bridesmaids wore dresses from Amanda Wyatt collections and all looked very glamorous. All the dresses were set off with every girls’ favourite accessory – the shoes! Bespoke Big Day provided us with some amazing shoes to chose from, Eleanor’s shoes with pink sparkly heels were so amazing I considered “borrowing” them for a while! The ladies bouquets were provided by Boutique Paeony and it was such a shame to ruin the bride’s bouquet for the big scene but it did look amazing!

Sheffield City Hall provided us with a location for the famous scene from the first film where Carrie hits Big over the head with her bouquet after he jilts her! Our “Mr Big” for the day was Simon from Chauffeur D’Elegance, he chauffeured the ladies in an amazing Bentley Arnage which drew some admiring glances from the football crowd in town! Further shots in the city hall included a reenactment of the scene where Carrie receives the call from Big to say he isn’t coming and some spectacular and dizzy shots of Eleanor spinning around like Carrie did in the Vogue shoot.

It was time for a break in the Botanical Gardens, so we provided the ladies with a tea party picnic. Amazing vintage crockery was provided kindly by Jennie from Hansley Beard event design and the food itself – salads, quiche, strawberries and pate was provided by Coco Catering. The icing on the cake (so to speak!) were the cupcakes provided by Yummylicious complete with I love NY icing. We even had our own menu and placecards for the ladies provided by Lucy Ledger Designs.

There was just time for a bit of post picnic frisbee, jumping and bubbles before we casually strolled along Ecclesall Road attracting some attention from the fans again to Menzels bar for some well deserved Cosmopolitans! We left the ladies with their feet up and collapsed on the sofa with a cupcake!

We had such a great time, there was lots of laughs and even an appearance from a camel!

Thanks to the ladies for being amazing models and actresses – you all looked gorgeous!

Elvis Presley - Las Vegas Wedding

In recent weeks we have been busy co-ordinating wedding ceremonies for many lovely couples, we feel especially proud to be a part of their special day. As a result our blog has been neglected! Whilst perusing the web I found this image of Elvis and Priscilla Presley on their wedding day on 1st May 1967, at The Aladdin Hotel, Las Vegas. We love this image as it shows a bye gone age where dreams really can come true in the Sin City.....
